Ugliest bathroom

Here it is. The story with this is that my mom bought this 100-year-old house and it needed extensive remodeling. She ran out of money by the time it was the bathroom's turn.

This is what you see when you walk in. I like the tile on the bottom half of the wall and the medicine cabinet, but that's about it.

Some decorative flowers that were partially scraped off of the wall.

You might wonder why we have that ugly carpeting on the floor. Well, when we moved in, there was this hideous brown with purple flowers carpeting. We tore it up and it revealed the tile underneath that was just totally fucked up. So we scrounged up some carpet remnants and went to town.

good ol' water damage.

another shot of the flower decals and some completely useless hooks.

I didn't take any pictures of the bizarre plumbing configurations, but I don't want to make you guys too sick right away.

Might I add that the lovely vanity in your bathroom is THE EXACT SAME STYLE that we have in two (2) of our three bathrooms. Gotta love the 60's inspired gold flecks, and boxy style.

The window in the bath also reminds me of our first house and the horrendous bath inside.

The wallpaper adds a certain je ne sais quois to the entire theme of the room.

In all seriousnes, thanks for sharing the pics. I love to see what other people have to work with. The tres cool thought is to eventually have a non-fugly rooms community where we post the end result, with pictures towards progress along the way.

Remember, don't feel any shame for your own piece of fugliness. Embrace it, love it, go with it... :)
